Foodstory Cookin: Water

Dear friends,

It is time for our May Foodstory Cookin!

Date: May 26th, 2024

Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm EST

Location: Zoom

Purpose:

Foodstory Cookin is dedicated to cultivating a mindful relationship with food as medicine. We honor elemental origins and labor put forth by delving into the narratives behind each ingredient, thereby fostering a profound appreciation for the nourishment they offer. This gathering is crafted with the intention of fostering a sense of community through the cultivation of mindful awareness, transforming the act of cooking into a reverential ritual steeped in love.

How it Works:

1.Ingredients: Before each event, we will send out a curated list of ingredients. This allows you to gather the necessary items ahead of time.

2. Cook Together on Zoom: On the event day, we will convene on Zoom to cook together in real-time. This virtual cooking session offers a unique opportunity to share techniques, tips, and, most importantly, the joy of preparing a meal in the company of others.

3. Stories Behind the Ingredients: As we cook, we'll delve into the fascinating histories of the ingredients we are using. From the origins of spices to the cultural significance of certain vegetables, the aim is to deepen our understanding of the connection between food and culture. That day’s food facilitator will also come wearing the hat of food educator.

4. Share Your Foodstory: In addition to exploring the history of ingredients, participants are encouraged to share personal stories and memories associated with the recipes. Whether it's a family tradition, a cherished childhood dish, or a recent culinary discovery, every participant's unique Foodstory adds flavor to our collective experience.
