Transcending Treatment: A Personal Journey Through Brain Tumor Recovery

Photograph By: Marcus Rogers

Dear friends,

On this 2-year anniversary of my craniotomy, with deep gratitude to and for the love that continues to save my life, I would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to an afternoon of intimate storytelling, conversation, and reflection on the process of healing and letting go.

We will start the gathering with centering and some reflective writing prompts. Then, with the prayer that it may be medicine, I will share my personal journey of living with and healing through a brain tumor. We will delve into the significant yet often overlooked distinction between treatment and recovery, unpack the intricate nuances of balancing our emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies along with those of our loved ones, look at real life barriers to mending, and address contributing factors to limited treatment options.

This gathering is not solely about my journey; it is an opportunity for shared reflection, conversation, and medicine exchange. I encourage you to come with an open heart and if compelled share your wisdom.

Please feel free to invite anyone who might benefit from or contribute to this profound conversation. Whether you have personally experienced a health challenge, are a caretaker, or are simply curious about the dynamics of healing, you are welcome. Please sign up bellow.

With gratitude,

Hermon
