On Being

I dream in color…shades of indigo…smells of saffron…echoes of the serenity prayer… Sometimes I dream with eyes closed and sometimes with eyes wide open… sometimes of possibilities and other times I dream what already is. Sometimes I like to share what I see. Sometimes people tell me that what I see does not exist. Sometimes they insist on it and eventually I betray my vision with doubt. Sometimes I close my eyes and am reminded that those who believe they have five senses are not going to see what I see with my sixth. I believe that things are because they are. Not because they are seen. That the tree falling makes a sound regardless of whether anyone is there to hear it (but to be clear, someone…something… always is…). Seeing honors and provides opportunity to move into awareness and understanding. It does not in fact validify. I am whether you are able to perceive me or not. My existence is not defined by your capacity or lack thereof. No one has the power to erase me as long as I insist on being. Even if you try to delete my story, you will never unfeel or undo its impact. I am because I am.

Until next time, be like water my friends…reflect and flow.

1.       What causative factors have watered the seeds of

doubt in your own life?

2. What parts of you long to be seen?

3. What parts of you have you kept hidden and for the

sake of what?

2.       When and how have you participated (knowingly or

unknowingly) in the erasure of others?

3.       What practices assert your own sense of beingness?
